Have you built an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in Sacramento or considered building one?  The City of Sacramento’s Planning Division is seeking feedback from homeowners to better understand their experiences with ADU development. 

Whether you: 

have built an ADU, 
are currently building one, or
considered building one but decided not to move forward,

we invite you to participate in a short survey.  

Your feedback will help the City better understand homeowners' experiences with ADU development, from initial planning through permitting and construction, as well as the barriers that may prevent projects from moving forward.  

Your responses are valuable and will be used to evaluate and improve City programs, permitting processes, and support resources related to ADU development.  

Each survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be open until August 16, 2026. 

The survey is available in four languages: English, Spanish, Chinese Simplified, and Russian. Please select the correct survey below.
